The Daish hotel in Shanklin is a fairly comfortable hotel at the less expensive end of the market. The staff were excellent and meals were always palatable, with at least 3 or 4 choices. Our bed was really comfortable, with an en suite shower bathroom. We stayed there for 8 nights and the dinner menu runs in a 4 day cycle. Limited parking, the hotel carts for perhaps clubs, so coach arrival is normal. It's a downhill stroll to Shanklin shops, and steep walk down to the beach front. There's a lift, if you don't want a strenuous walk back, at a nominal charge.

Stayed here very recently. Food both quality and quantity were both excellent . Staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Special mention for Conner our waiter who was extremely good and caring. The room was a bit tired. The shower was very good. Both the shower and the room were clean and the maid service was very good. The location was good being in the town with buses a short walk away.All in all an excellent stay. It is excellent value for the money.
Stayed at a number of daishs hotels now. We came on a four night coach trip. This hotel in Shanklin is a fairly decent hotel at the cheaper end of the market. The staff were great but the meals were probably the worst we've had from a daishs hotel, a bit bland and everything came with boiled potatoes. Maybe this was linked to the turkey and tinsel theme. Some nights were better than others. Breakfast not much better. We ate out one night as a result. Staff and service were great though. The room was really comfortable, with an en suite bathroom. It's a short stroll to Shanklin shops and a steep walk down to the beach front. There is a handy train station in shanklin which will take you to Ryde. Would still stay again though and enjoyed our iow trip.
After the 1st evening meal everything was very good, food very nice, bar was a bit of a problem must spend £5 to pay on card but the beers were £4.95, they had worked that one out, but they did take cash. Would come again though.

The room was a little tired, the bed was comfortable but the furniture just average. There is no phone in the room, the television was quite small and poorly positioned. The shower worked well with good pressure, occasionally we would lose hot water but you just have to wait for it to heat up. The wifi worked well with good strength. The people who worked in all areas of the hotel were first class, friendly and helpful. The food was acceptable and tasty if a little plain. The entertainment was sometimes very good and sometimes average. The hotel is due to close for some months in order to carry out remodeling and refurbishment so this review doesn't really help anyone unless you're coming soon. We might well come back this time next year to see how things have improved.
A very nice stay at Daish's first hotel from 1979. Lots of scenic trips to go and places to visit. Also hovercraft from Ryde to Portsmouth!
